Four University School of Jackson students have been recognized as the “best of the best” nationally by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
USJ students, Meg Miller (’21), Keaton Miller (’20), Ethan Schlegel (’20), and Lily Richardson (’20) will join 236 vocalists from around the United States in the NAfME Mixed Choir under the direction of esteemed conductor Tesfa Wondemagegnehu at the 2019 All-National Honor Ensembles (ANHE). Performances will take place November 7–10, 2019, at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles (ANHE) represent the top-performing high school musicians in the U.S. So much more than a musical showcase, the ANHE program is a comprehensive and educational experience.
USJ Choral Director Dian Eddleman says, “USJ is very fortunate to have such a great pool of talented students. We are very honored to have four of our USJ Concert Choir students selected to this prestigious ensemble.” In addition to her role as Choral Director at USJ, Mrs. Eddleman serves as the President of the Southern Division of the NAfME.
These four students are all members of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and are the only students from Jackson, TN performing at All-Nationals this year.
