West Side Story

Upper School to Perform West Side Story

The University School of Jackson Performing Arts Department will present West Side Story  on March 1 - 3, 2019.  This production has a cast of 40 students, 3 faculty members and a student  orchestra.  The timeless story tells the tale of two young lovers, Tony and Maria, who are caught between warring street gangs.  Much like the story of Romeo and Juliet, the idealistic young people struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice.

The orchestra is led by Tom Grant, director of Bands and Orchestra.  Erica Davidson, theatre teacher, will choreograph the show and build the sets.  Dr. Tammy Grant will direct the show.  West Side Story is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

Purchase your tickets today by clicking the link below.  Adult admission is $12 and non-USJ students and senior citizens get in for $8.  All USJ faculty, administration and students receive free admission.
