The University School of Jackson chapter of Mu Alpha Theta is its mathematics honor society. This is an honor society for students who have demonstrated an aptitude and achievement in mathematics. Each year the members complete a service project that benefits local charitable organizations. Membership is by invitation only and the dues are $10 at induction. To be considered for membership, students must be Juniors or Seniors enrolled in Honors Algebra II, Honors Pre-Calculus, or AP Calculus with a GPA of at least 3.0 in past courses. Mu Alpha Theta will have their Annual Pie Contest to commemorate Pi Day 3/14, which raises money for a charity while also enjoying pie. This year, the charity is The Boys and Girls Clubs of Jackson.
