University School of Jackson

Welcome from our Head of School

Staurt HirsteinWelcome to the U!

I am honored that you are visiting our website and invite you to our beautiful campus so you might attest to what makes the USJ experience so special.

We are proud of our West Tennessee heritage and the tradition of excellence that has been established and advanced over the past 50 years here at USJ. In the classrooms, science labs, theater and fields of play, the University School of Jackson has developed leaders that have progressed to make a positive impact on the world. Today, we are fortunate to be preparing tomorrow’s torchbearers for college and life beyond it.

Our mission statement clearly asserts our commitment as an independent school, not only to academic, artistic, and athletic excellence, but to growing the total person. Our pledge to the principles of integrity and mutual respect are taught, expected and lived-out by our entire organization. Life-long learning is strived for daily as we work to grow an even more vibrant culture of constant improvement.

As a native Jacksonian, I have personally experienced the positive transformation of our campus and have been blessed to witness USJ’s impact on my hometown. I invite you take a closer look at the best school in West Tennessee, meet our impressive students, inspiring teachers, and supportive parents, and see for yourself why we are so excited about the future of USJ!

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Don Roe
