Rebecca Lilienstern

Director of College Advising, Economics

Rebecca Lilienstern serves as the Director of College Advising. She is also a member of the History and Social Science Department and teaches Economics.

Mrs. Lilienstern has 15 years of experience in teaching high school history and social science. She has a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in history from the University of Illinois.

As the Director of College Advising, she says, “The goal of our College Advising Team is to provide individualized attention and support to our students as they participate in the college search and selection process. There are many colleges that will be a good ‘fit’ for each student and we guide our students as they research colleges, meet deadlines, and plan for the future.”

As a teacher, she says, “I seek to spark student interest in history and social science by helping them make connections between course work and daily life. I encourage students to set personal academic goals and I work to support them in achieving these goals.”

She is married to Clay Lilienstern, USJ’s Head of School.

“I love the sense of community at USJ,” Mrs. Lilienstern says. “Students, teachers, staff, and parents create a supportive environment and a sense of pride in the school that is apparent in the classroom, at school events, and in the broader local community.”
