Kathy Davis

Fifth Grade

Kathy Davis has a bachelor of science in education from Union University. She has been an educator for 12 years.

She believes that all children can learn. She says, “It is my job as an educator to discover how each child learns best and adapt my lessons so that each child experiences success. Each child should feel valued as a person. A child who feels valued has no limits in his/her success. It is amazing what a student will do for a teacher who makes him or her feel special. I expect excellence, and the students strive for excellence.”

In her classroom, she says, “I make every effort to make my class challenging, interesting, and relate to real-life. Getting the students actively involved in their lessons creates a positive classroom environment. Children, who are focused on their lesson, learn best and enjoy school. Learning should be fun!”

Mrs. Davis, and her husband, Keith, have three children, all students at USJ. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Davis enjoys spending time with her family, watching her children in their many activities, and shopping.

She likes several aspects of USJ: “Being close to my children, the safe and secure environment, the parental support, the enthusiasm of the administration and my colleagues.”
